Meet Dr. Hannah Ewert, PsyD (She/Her)

Dr. Hannah Ewert (she/her) is a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in working with children, adolescents, young adults, and their families at Child Psychology Center. Known for her calm, warm, and empathetic nature, Dr. Hannah provides a safe and supportive environment where her clients can express themselves and develop new skills. Whether she’s working with children navigating emotional challenges or coaching parents to better support their children, Dr. Hannah’s strengths-based, client-centered approach helps her clients discover their potential and achieve meaningful progress. She is particularly skilled in helping children, teens, and parents build stronger connections and enhance self-compassion and resilience.

Therapeutic Approach

Dr. Hannah’s therapeutic philosophy is relational, strengths-based, and client-centered, tailoring evidence-based practices like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) skills, PC-CARE, and psychodynamic approaches to meet each client's individual needs. Her focus is on fostering a trusting, empathetic connection with her clients, helping them utilize their strengths while guiding them in areas of growth. She recognizes that every child, teen, and family has unique needs, so she adapts her therapeutic approach to meet them where they are in their journey. Drawing from her knowledge of attachment theory and child development, Dr. Hannah collaborates with her clients to build a secure therapeutic space where healing and growth can thrive.

Education and Training

Dr. Hannah earned her Doctorate in Psychology (PsyD) from Fuller Theological Seminary, School of Psychology in 2022, following a Master’s Degree in Psychology from the same institution in 2019. Her academic background also includes a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Fresno Pacific University, awarded in 2014. Throughout her educational journey, she focused on clinical psychology with special emphasis on child and adolescent therapy, attachment theory, mindfulness, self-compassion, and trauma-informed care. After completing her degrees, she engaged in post-doctoral work, including a fellowship with UC Davis Health Department of Psychiatry’s CCAPS Program and a psychologist position at UC Davis Children’s Behavioral Health Center.

Areas of Expertise & Research

Hannah's areas of expertise include anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and self-compassion. She is passionate about working with children and adolescents as well as coaching parents to strengthen their ability to support their children effectively. She has specialized experience in working with trauma, autism, ADHD, and other forms of neurodiversity in children, teens, and young adults. In addition to her clinical work, she completed a dissertation titled A Comprehensive Literature Analysis on Attachment-Based Interventions for Adolescents and Parents: Current Practices and Future Directions, which she later presented at UC Davis Health Department of Psychiatry Grand Rounds. This research reflects her dedication to understanding the complexities of attachment and family dynamics.

Services Offered

Dr. Hannah offers a range of virtual therapy services to folks living in California including individual therapy for children, adolescents, and young adults, as well as parent coaching to help parents support their children effectively. She provides teletherapy, group therapy (covering social skills, CBT skills, and DBT skills), psychological testing, and specializes in working with neurodivergent populations, anxiety disorders, depression, and trauma recovery. Her ability to integrate tailored therapeutic modalities makes her practice versatile and comprehensive.

What Inspired Her Journey

Dr. Hannah's passion for psychology began during her high school years when she learned about the devastating effects of trauma on children during a peer presentation on the war in Darfur. This profound moment ignited her desire to help children and families who are struggling. Through her work in an afterschool program for underserved children, Dr. Hannah recognized the importance of specialized training and pursued a career in clinical psychology to make a meaningful impact. Her ultimate goal is to support families in discovering new paths to healing and to see children flourish in their personal growth.

Outside the Office

Outside of her clinical work, Dr. Hannah enjoys spending time with her orange cat, Lily, and helping care for a dog named Pippin. She has a passion for reading, especially fiction and love stories, and enjoys exploring creative hobbies like embroidery, punch needling, and diamond painting. A lover of the outdoors, she likes going to the beach, walking in the park, and swimming. Dr. Hannah is also an avid music fan, playing several instruments and attending live concerts whenever possible. Music is one of her favorite ways to relax and recharge.
